"MON - My husband Jerry Brown and I arrived in New York a day early, just to make sure the December weather didn’t sabotage our plans. We attended the last session of the exhibit of Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry and couture. Her collection was really two groups: pieces that were given to her, and pieces that she chose for herself. All of it was breathtaking, larger in scale and more beautiful than I expected. Usually, jewelry looks better in photos, but not hers. This woman had a collection that rivals the jewelry of royalty — and I had come to get a piece of it.
